The 2008 WASL scores are in

Of the incoming seniors, 87.5% have met the state's reading requirement, 87.5% have met the writing, and 83.6% have met both. Great numbers for the start of the year, especially since these scores do not include the summer's WASL retakes. All students of the class of 2008 must pass both the reading and writing WASL or state-approve alternative to graduate.

There will be another opportunity for students to pass the test in the spring and students can also access many alternatives to the WASL. For more on these scores, read our blog or this press release.

Compare graduation requirements by district!

Ever wonder how graduation requirements at a high school in your area compare to others? Well, thanks to the great work of the State Board of Education (SBE) you can now easily find out!

The SBE recently released a database of graduation credit requirements for each of the 246 districts with high schools. You can access this useful tool in excel and pdf formats on the SBE website.
